Consultation with property developers to reduce emissions
Make agreements with contractors to limit the emission of polluting substances from machines, generators or demolition work on construction sites.
You tackle the following challenges:
That's how you do it
Diesel generators on construction sites cause noise nuisance and serious pollution through the emission of soot and particulate matter. By using environmentally friendly alternatives, you not only ensure a more pleasant and healthier living environment, but also a reduction in CO 2 emissions and a reduction in energy bills.
- Use the existing electricity network as much as possible.
- Use large, mobile batteries.
- If possible, opt for hybrid forms of electricity generation by combining solar panels, batteries or wind energy.
- If no alternatives are possible or available, make sure that the diesel generator has a decent particulate filter.

The Flemish Traffic Science Foundation has drawn up an example charter on safe site transport in school environments. In such a charter, the various partners commit themselves to adapted routes and timing of site traffic, and to low-emission vehicles. This can be done for both existing and new yards.
