The BelAir app

The BelAir app shows the air quality at your location via a model calculation that is updated every hour.

You tackle the following challenges:

How do I make my environment more aware of air quality

That's how you do it

Download the app and see the nitrogen dioxide (NO 2 ), ozone (O 3 ), particulate matter (PM 2.5 , PM 10 ) and soot (BC) concentration for your location. These are hourly average values that you can request for each location in Belgium. The app displays the status of the current air quality via a score (ranging from "very good" to "extremely bad", indicated with the corresponding color scale) and makes a prediction of the air quality that you can expect in the coming days and its evolution. long term.

On the websites of the Flemish Environment Agency and IRCEL you will find answers to frequently asked questions (FAQ) regarding BelAir.
The local concentration in your street is the result of a model calculation. The model calculates the concentrations by interpolating the measurements in the official measuring stations to the whole of Flanders. This means that very local situations cannot be taken into account (such as local road works, a local fire, etc.), since we do not take measurements in every street.
